Doom cloud. Doom wave. [02 Jan 2010|08:29pm] jacks_piranhas A dark cloud rolled across the sky. The waves, responding to the curvaceous and supple moon, pummeled the beach, whipping bits of water over the rocks in a tantrum. The onlookers oohed and ahhed. They took pictures, holding the camera at the ready so they could catch the theatrics in action, catch the bits of water in midair. Unbeknownst to them, the mighty and spiteful beach reached out its watery hand and snatched at their helpless backpacks, which they had tucked upshore around the bend. While they were distracted, nay -tricked!, by the wildly tantric wave whipping, the backpacks were thrashed in the currents behind their turned backs. One opened and spilled its guts, its zipper breaking under pressure like the wuss it was. The contents drowned that day, and hardly a gurgle was heard against the triumphant roar of the beach and its mighty, hateful ten foot waves. Here we pay memory to the dead: My cell phone. My iPod. Wesley's iPod docking speakers. My "The Child Thief" by Brom, novel (an Xmas gift, no less). Most likely, my backpack. And lastly, every single tampon I had with me. (That last one was a low blow.) Tomorrow, when the mourning stage has past, I'll have to see about replacing these items. (Some sooner than others.) Woe is my bank account.. post comment

Lykke Li, etc. [29 Dec 2009|08:41pm] jacks_piranhas Wesley got me the Twilight New Moon soundtrack for Xmas. It's dang good. And by dang good, I mean mother effing dang good. Every song makes me want to put it on repeat. Yar! Apparently, I really want the album by Lykke Li. She's some Swedish girl who is on the soundtrack and she's fantastical. So I went to YouTube and watched some videos and stuff and I like, I like, I like. There's a really good OK Go song on there, too, and now I want to check them out. Wahoo. (I also got Twilight on Bluray, an Edward Cullen bookmark, and Twilight Godiva chocolate. Wesley was trying to embarrass me. He did, but I still like it all. Shoot me! Har har.)
